Isa clark gives advice for future players

After being a founding member of the Lynn Women’s Lacrosse team, Isabella Clark looks ahead to study in Europe after she graduates from Lynn in 2023 with a degree in International Business.

Isa Clark comes to South Florida from the West coast of California, making her one of the players that is the furthest from home. Clark hails from Pleasanton, California, right outside of the Bay Area in San Francisco. It comes to question then, why did she choose Lynn, a school that is thousands of miles away from her friends and family? However, the answer is just that. Clark says, “having the opportunity to branch out from home and gain new experiences in a completely new area is just what I wanted. Having the chance to start a brand new program was also a huge selling point in Lynn’s favor”.

Clark is a proponent for being homesick, as being a 6 hour flight from her family was the biggest obstacle she had to face in her 4 years at Lynn. Being away from home is hard, and Clark possesses an array of helpful advice for freshmen that are bound to be in the difficult homesick position that being away brings. “You need to be able to recognize that you are now an adult, and new experiences with new people are what is going to help you become your own person away from the area you grew up in”, advises Clark.

Although she has faced hardships such as this, she still thoroughly recognizes the successes that being at Lynn University has provided her. Clark was the first offensive player for Lynn Women’s Lacrosse to be chosen for the All-SSC Second Team in her sophomore year. Along with this achievement, Clark has been a captain for the team for her junior and now senior year, showing that her growth as a player, teammate, and friend has been nothing but positive. This positive growth reflects in her expectations for her final season at Lynn, “For this season I see our team being the most successful it ever has. After coming off of a complete and winning season my junior year, I only anticipate our team to do even better this year”.

As her senior year comes to a close, Clark looks towards the future. Her plan is to study abroad in Europe and complete her masters degree at an accredited university overseas while continuing her athletic career with lacrosse.
