Why i chose lynn university
The beginning of my college search began with two requirements: Florida and palm trees. As I dove deeper into the chaos that is college applications, I quickly realized that although useful, these requirements are not the only factors to a decision. As these factors became more and more specific, my mother gave me some advice, that being specific in your needs is the way you need to be when deciding where to live for the next 4 years. Being a lacrosse player, I wanted to continue my career at a college that would allow me to compete in the sport that I love. Endless months of emails, calls, and messages from every Division II and Division III college in my preferred area came into my inbox, but none sparked my interest. Until the fall of 2018, when I received my first email from Coach Mindy Richmond. She chronicled a plan of beginning a women’s lacrosse team at Lynn University, and all of the ideas and hopes she had for the future of the program, and I was a part of that! Upon my parent’s initial pushback, they finally agreed to let me travel to Boca Raton to visit the allusive Lynn University. Right away the school checked many of my boxes, especially being in Florida and having plenty of palm trees to go around. Coach Richmond wined and dined me, selling the school and her new program in the best possible light, and I fell in love. Finally, I had a coach who recognized my talents and wanted to help me become a better player, student, and overall person; And just like that, I verbally committed to Lynn University in the winter of 2019. So I will leave my readers with this, be patient, your time to be valued and respected will come, and all of your hard work will pay off.
